Professor Mehmet Kemal İnan is on the advisory board of New York Institute and Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence (NYILAI) in the United States.Professor Mehmet Kemal İnan is an Emeritus Professor at Sabancı University in Turkey and currently teaches two courses (Automata Theory and Theory of Computation) per year. He received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering at EE Department from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1964 and 1966, MS degree in Automatic Control from Warwick University, Coventry UK in 1966, and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from EECS Department from University of California- Berkeley in 1970. He worked as visiting faculty in the Department of EECS at the University of California- Berkeley(1980-1982 and 1985-1899). He was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Sabancı University, Istanbul(1998-2007). He has worked in Automatic Control, Electrical Power Systems: operation and tariffs, and Discrete Event Sytems. Currently, his interest focuses on the role of Automation and Knowledge in economic unemployment. Professor İnan has published a book (in Turkish) titled ‘Teknolojik İş(lev)sizlik’ in 2012 and taught a course titled Technology and Society open to all students of Sabancı University a number of times between 2010 and 2016.
